About Us
The Zimmer Children’s Museum is dedicated to teaching people about the BIG IDEAS of global citizenship, community responsibility, and cultural sensitivity.
Our mission is to make a better society through interactive learning, creative self-expression and art experiences for children and families.
The Zimmer Children’s Museum is a non-profit cultural institution located on Museum Row in Los Angeles, and features hands-on exhibits for children 0-8 to explore BIG IDEAS in creative and inspiring settings. The Zimmer is also the only museum dedicated specifically to kids and families in Los Angeles.
An interactive space for learning, play, imagination, and exploration, our exhibits, some of which have Jewish themes, offer hours of fun and discovery. Click HERE for more information on our exhibits.
Through the power of play, children will learn about human values such as respect for others, helping those in need, generosity, and creativity. We also offer children’s classes, family programs, and field trips to deepen the experience.
Are you an 11-18 year old interested in social justice? Through art and education programs in school and community settings, youTHink utilizes the power of art to foster youth's critical thinking about contemporary issues and empowers them to make a difference in their communities or in the world.
show&tell is a major exhibit featuring works of art by numerous artists related to a theme. This year's theme of pop culture will allow our artists to work with mass culture, advertising, products, comic books, ideas, and themes that reflect on pop (in the moment) or traditional objects that are associated with culture in general. Our past exhibits are: 2011 – the art of building; 2010 – the art of knowledge; 2009 – the art of language; 2008 – the art of vision; 2007 – the art of harmony; 2006 – the art of time; 2004 – the art of connection. Like the Museum and youTHink, this exhibit combines the power of art to educate on a theme and raise social awareness about issues of interest to participating artists.
