Field Trips

The Zimmer Children’s Museum is delighted to host school groups for students in Preschool through First Grade throughout the academic year. Our field trips invite students to explore and play, while revealing the museum’s “BIG IDEAS” about the world and the important role children have within our world. The museum EXHIBITS and the Lessons Learned are aligned with California Content Standards and Preschool Learning Foundations for Preschool through First Grade.

Your group has the option of selecting between Stay & Play or a Lesson Learned.

Stay & Play
This option allows children to explore the museum and play at their own pace within the various exhibits for the duration of their visit. Field trip groups less than 15 people (children and adults) can be scheduled for any morning that the museum is open—based on availability. Larger groups are welcome during our field trip days on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Lesson Learned
In addition to an allotted time for free play in the museum, this option includes a 25 minute Educator-facilitated, standards-based, integrated art project. Lesson Learned visits are available for groups during Tuesday or Thursday mornings.
