The Zimmer Children's Museum is currently seeking the following positions:

 

CAMP ZIMMER - SUMMER SITE SUPERVISOR (See PDF HERE)

Responsible for overseeing daily activities and general camp operations to ensure the overall safety and quality experience for program participants at the site location. 

  • Responsible for knowing, understanding, training, and implementing Camp Zimmer program philosophy, policies, and safety procedures in alignment with the requirements of the host site
  • Assist in the planning, designing, evaluation and implementation of program activities
  • Maintains inventory and gather materials as necessary for programs and activities
  • Assist with daily check-in and check-out procedures
  • Engage in parent communication, including greeting all parents, taking photos and drafting end-of-day e-mails, informing parent’s on their child’s progress or any challenging behavior, etc.
  • Ensure the accuracy and maintenance of administrative records, including rosters, emergency info, attendance, etc.
  • Be available to handle challenging behavior and incidents regarding child safety, including administering First  Aid/CPR and arranging emergency care as needed
  • Take pictures and send communication to parents 3 times per week
  • Ensure staffing coverage for each day, filling in as necessary for additional classroom support
  • Ensure site facility meets the needs and requirements to ensure safety of Camp staff and program activities
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of site facility
  • Supervise Camp Zimmer Head Counselors, Counselors and Junior Counselors
  • Exemplify a positive role model for camp staff and participants
  • In collaboration with Camp Director, provide on-going management and training of camp staff as necessary
  • Communicate regularly with Camp Counselors and Camp Director regarding concerns, updates, challenges, etc.
  • Ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere, and maintain a positive attitude!
  • Other duties as assigned as it relates to Camp Zimmer program goals and objectives

CAMP ZIMMER - HEAD COUNSELOR (See PDF HERE)

Rresponsible for a group of 14-20 children each day, ensuring the safety and well-being of each camper, developing and facilitating activities, and providing daily feedback to the Site Supervisor and Camp Zimmer Director. The Head Counselor is also responsible for supervising a Camp Zimmer Summer Junior Counselor and Counselors-in-Training (CITs).

  • Create a welcoming camp experience with the safety, health, well-being and happiness of each camper in mind
  • Plan and implement Camp Zimmer curriculum and lesson plans provided each week
  • Develop, facilitate and adjust activities as necessary to engage participants of varying skill levels in a one-on-one, small or large group setting
  • Recognize and encourage opportunities for individual and group problem solving and creative expression
  • Observe, anticipate, and manage behavior in alignment with Camp Zimmer philosophy
  • Interact with parents or guardians during drop-off and pick-up times
  • Guide campers through a daily schedule which includes activities, restroom breaks, snack time and lunch time
  • Responsible for set-up, clean-up and maintenance of classroom and program materials each day
  • Ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere
  • Maintain positive attitude, and have fun!
  • Administer First Aid/CPR, and any emergency care as needed
  • Supervise Assistant Camp Teachers and Counselors-In-Training (CITs): providing instructions for daily activities, modeling and constructive feedback
  • Communicate regularly with other Camp Teachers, Site Supervisor, and Camp Director regarding concerns, updates, challenges, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned as it relates to Camp Zimmer program goals and objectives

  • Observe, anticipate, and guide behavior in alignment with Camp Zimmer philosophies, alerting the Head Counselor to more serious needs for behavior management
  • Responsible for set-up, clean-up and maintenance of classroom and program materials each day
  • Ability to work in a cooperative, team-oriented atmosphere
  • Maintain a positive attitude, and have fun!
  • Support Counselors-In-Training (CITs), providing instructions for daily activities
  • Communicate regularly with other Camp Counselors, Site Supervisor, and Camp Director regarding concerns, updates, challenges, etc.

On-Call

PLAY GUIDE - The Zimmer Children’s Museum is always seeking volunteers and part-time play guides!

Responsible for general care of and engagement with museum visitors during public hours and private events.

  • Assist visitors with general questions and needs. Respond in an appropriate way to guest concerns.
  • Encouraging active engagement of visitors with museum exhibits and programs.
  • Lead programs such as Open Art Studio and Sing-a-longs.
  • Perform front desk duties when needed including answering main phone line, welcoming guests,
    answering questions about programs and selling memberships.
  • Host birthday parties as scheduled.
  • Collect feedback from visitors.
