It’s National Read a Book Day! Join us as we read favorite children’s stories and create our own mini books!
Wednesday, Sept 9 – Story & Art with PJ Library (3pm – 4pm)
Join us for a special PJ Library story time, followed by an art activity in our Art Studio! Today's reading is about Rosh Hashanah. We will be reading I Say Shehechiyanu by Joanne Rocklin. When you're a small child, life is a series of firsts - first steps, first words, first teeth, first show! Jewish tradition has a special prayer, the Shehechiyanu, that recognizes the importance of each and every first.
Sunday, Sept 13 – Rosh Hashanah: Celebrate a Sweet New Year at the Zimmer!

Happy New Year! It’s Rosh Hashanah, and the Zimmer Children’s Museum is the perfect place for a family celebration or to learn more about this holiday. Head over to the museum for a day of reflection and celebration as we welcome in a new year. There will be activities for the whole family, including paper shofars, apple stamping and honey hive prints for a sweet new year!
Sunday, Sept 20 – Open Art: Happy Birthday Chihuly! (2pm – 4pm)
Artist Chihuly is best known for his glass sculptures of vibrant colors and organic shapes! Join us as we recreate his world famous pieces with upcycled and colorful art materials! http://www.chihuly.com/
Monday, Sept 21 – Story & Art with PJ Library (11am – 12pm)
Join us for a special PJ Library story time, followed by an art activity in our Art Studio! Today's reading is about Sukkot. We will be reading A Very Crowded Sukkah by Leslie Kimmelman. Ava's family was getting ready to eat in their sukkah when it started to rain - so back inside they went. "Poor little sukkah," thought Ava. "All alone in the rain." But if you look closely, you'll see that the sukkah isn't very lonely after all.
