WEEKLY PROGRAMS

SHADOW PLAY
Mondays @ 3pm, in the Art Room
Lets see what fun shadows your little one can come up with as they play around with different shapes under the light!

SING-A-LONG
Tuesdays and Fridays @ 11am, in the Mann Theater
This free treat is sure to get your little ones laughing and singing along with all your favorite classic children’s songs! Plus, every third Friday special guest singer, David Tobocman, joins us with his own top hits!

OPEN ART STUDIO
Tuesdays @ 3pm, in the Art Room
Each week, our studio welcomes young artists to participate in a new project. Drop in anytime the studio is open to create entirely original masterpieces!

CULTURE CLUB
Wednesdays @ 11am, in the Art Room
Explore stories, songs, and cuisines from around the world!

BUBBLES
Wednesdays @ 3pm, in the Community Park
Lets get poppin'!

STORY TIME
Thursdays @ 11am, in Bubbie’s Bookstore

This interactive story time is sure to keep the little ones entertained!

WIND WHIRL
Thursdays@ 3pm
in the Community Park
Creations take flight in our wind tunnel at the Discovery Airport!

Sunday, Aug 2 – Open Art Studio (2pm – 4pm)

Wednesday, Aug 5 – Story & Art with PJ Library (3pm – 4pm)

Join us for a special PJ Library story time, followed by an art activity in our Art Studio! Today's reading is about forgiveness. We will be reading Red, Blue and Yellow Yarn: A Tale of Forgiveness by Miriam Kosman. Danny's grandmother is very prim and proper - and Danny is neither. He thinks that she doesn't like him. But when Danny makes a big mistake, Bubbie surprises him - and shows him the love and forgiveness that is passed down generation after generation.

Sunday, Aug 9 – Second Sunday Concert: Klezmer Juice (3pm)

Sunday, Aug 16 – Tortoise , Spiders & Snakes, Oh my!  (3pm)

Discover creatures that are crawling, scurrying, and slithering by!  Join us for a special presentation of live animals!

Tuesday, Aug 18 – Walt Disney Animation Studio's Short Collection - FROZEN FEVER (10am – 12pm)

In partnership with Walt Disney Animation Studio's Shorts Collection (Available on Digital HD & Disney Movies Anywhere on August 11th and Blu-ray on August 18th), the Zimmer presents this FREE family public program! Kids will learn how to draw the famous snowman Olaf and create their own ice-pop paintings!

Wednesday, Aug 19 – Story & Art with PJ Library (3pm – 4pm)

Join us for a special PJ Library story time, followed by an art activity in our Art Studio! Today's reading is about gratitude. We will be reading Todah by Kyra Teis. Babies have so many blessings - so many things to say TODAH (THANK YOU) for! And so do their parents. All you need to do is stop and notice.

Friday, Aug 21 – Walt Disney Animation Studio's Short Collection - PAPERMAN (10am – 12pm)

In partnership with Walt Disney Animation Studio's Shorts Collection (Available on Digital HD & Disney Movies Anywhere on August 11th and Blu-ray on August 18th), the Zimmer presents this FREE family public program! Kids will make their own special paper airplanes and watch them fly through our wind tunnel!

Sunday, Aug 23Free to Be Me Drum Circle (3pm)

Sunday, Sept 6 – National Read a Book Day! (2pm – 4pm)

It’s National Read a Book Day!  Join us as we read favorite children’s stories and create our own mini books!

 Wednesday, Sept 9 – Story & Art with PJ Library (3pm – 4pm)

Join us for a special PJ Library story time, followed by an art activity in our Art Studio! Today's reading is about Rosh Hashanah. We will be reading I Say Shehechiyanu by Joanne Rocklin. When you're a small child, life is a series of firsts - first steps, first words, first teeth, first show! Jewish tradition has a special prayer, the Shehechiyanu, that recognizes the importance of each and every first.

Sunday, Sept 13 – Rosh Hashanah: Celebrate a Sweet New Year at the Zimmer!
(Museum Hours: 12:30pm – 4pm)

Happy New Year!  It’s Rosh Hashanah, and the Zimmer Children’s Museum is the perfect place for a family celebration or to learn more about this holiday. Head over to the museum for a day of reflection and celebration as we welcome in a new year. There will be activities for the whole family, including paper shofars, apple stamping and honey hive prints for a sweet new year!  

Sunday, Sept 20 – Open Art: Happy Birthday Chihuly! (2pm – 4pm)

Artist Chihuly is best known for his glass sculptures of vibrant colors and organic shapes! Join us as we recreate his world famous pieces with upcycled and colorful art materials!  http://www.chihuly.com/

Monday, Sept 21 – Story & Art with PJ Library (11am – 12pm)

Join us for a special PJ Library story time, followed by an art activity in our Art Studio! Today's reading is about Sukkot. We will be reading A Very Crowded Sukkah by Leslie Kimmelman. Ava's family was getting ready to eat in their sukkah when it started to rain - so back inside they went. "Poor little sukkah," thought Ava. "All alone in the rain." But if you look closely, you'll see that the sukkah isn't very lonely after all.
