All Sunday drop-in programs run from 3:00pm-4:00pm and are FREE with paid admission.
March 2 – A Dr. Seuss Sunday: 2pm – 4pm
We’re celebrating Dr. Seuss and his wonderful world of words that rhyme and striped top hats! Join us as we read stories, make paper hats, and turn into cats (with face painting, of course!)!
March 9 – Second Sunday Concert Series: Kymberly Stewart: 3pm
Join us for the sweet sounds of singer, songwriter, music teacher, and mother of two from Monrovia. With years of experience working with children and writing songs, Kymberly Stewart performs a delightful musical treat for families to enjoy!
March 16 – Purim Party: 2pm – 4pm
It’s always a party at the Zimmer, and this weekend, we’re celebrating Purim! Join us in our art room as we make noisemakers and feathery masks, then head over to the Slavin Children’s Center at 3pm for special guest presentation by LA Puppet Theater Tree of Wonders for a Purim Puppet Show!
March 23 – Kishin Daiko (www.kishindaiko.com): 3pm
Join us for the dynamic, powerful and heart stopping sounds of Kishin Daiko, a taiko Japanese drumming group!
March 30 – Celebrating César E. Chávez: 2pm – 4pm
Join us as we honor Latino labor leader César E. Chávez and his life of community organizing and activism with arts & crafts and a special guest performance at 3pm by Kalpulli Tlaltekuhtli. Kalpulli Tlaltekuhtli is an Aztec Dance group from East Los Angeles. Through art, song and dance, we’ll learn about the contributions of César E. Chávez and discover ways that we can help the people in our communities.
April 6 – Pedal to Playtime! (www.ciclavia.org)
On April 6, CicLAvia takes over Wilshire Boulevard! The route ends just down the street from the Zimmer, so what better excuse to pedal to playtime? Find us on the streets of Wilshire, then arrive at the museum on a personally-powered vehicle (bike, skateboard… even feet!), and get $1 off admission!
We’re also kicking off our celebration of the Week of the Young Child, so join us in our art studio (3:00pm – 4:00pm) for a wheelie creative art experience!
April 13 – Second Sunday Concert Series: Ronna Dragon (www.ronnadragonmusic.com): 3pm
Ronna Dragon is a much beloved preschool music teacher and performer. Catch her as she makes her stop at the Zimmer to share some of her favorite songs for children and the people who love them! There will be maracas and tambourines, scarves and shakers, and more!
April 20 – Frogs, frogs, frogs!: 2pm – 4pm
Join us for a frogtacular afternoon as we learn about Passover and celebrate Spring! Create your own froggies in our art studio, discover the many frogs hiding throughout the museum, and more!
April 27 – National Poetry Month: 2pm – 4pm
It’s National Poetry Month! Poetry is wonderful way for little learners to explore rhythm and rhymes, sounds and syllables, build vocabulary and more! Join us in our art studio as we make and take your own poetry books!
