Each Wednesday morning at 9am, the Zimmer opens its doors exclusively to the under 2 crowd!
Tiny tykes and their caregivers can enjoy the museum in a more relaxed setting giving both kids and adults more room to breathe (and crawl and climb). Adult admission rates apply. As this hour’s intention is to create a safe, comfortable play space for our youngest visitors, we ask families with older siblings to instead join for regular museum hours at 10am.
While all children and families are always welcome at the Zimmer, the museum will open on special days exclusively for families with children with special needs.
At the Zimmer, we are committed to making quality play and learning experiences available to all children. While the Zimmer works diligently to provide inclusive programs every day, our Open Door Days combine special considerations regarding cost and ‘busy-ness’ of the museum with an understanding community. Our hope is that visiting the museum is enjoyable for all families, and Open Door Days serves as another option so that all families in the city may play and learn together at the Zimmer.
For the comfort of the families attending, we limit our capacity and offer a discounted admission rate of $10 per family (for up to 2 adults and all children in one household) for the day.

Monday, February 20th, 2012 (President’s Day): 2pm - 5pm
Monday, April 2nd, 2012 (LAUSD Spring Break): 10am - 1pm
